Cosy, Country Style Kitchen with Heart
This beautiful cozy kitchen brings back memories of the aroma of Grandma’s apple pie baking in the oven, kids eating buttery cookies dipped in warm milk, and a slow-paced life filled with conversations and fun. The homeowner wanted to recreate these feel-good vibes and our renovators obliged.
The color palette shows off gentle hues of blue blending with creamy-white countertops and earthy brown floors, creating a country vibe while still being modern and functional. To highlight the blue tones, appliances and coffee containers were chosen in varying shades of pistachio and powder blue.
A large bench dominates this kitchen design, flanked by sumptuous leather-clad brass-studded brown chairs that are ideal for eating, working, and relaxing. Cabinets and drawers form an easy-to-access L-shape around the bench and offer loads of both hidden and glass-front display storage. Plates, cups, pots, and pans are out of sight. Lovely country-style accents including a collection of teapots, vintage ceramic cooking pots, and a strutting rooster catch the eye. Under the bench is a collection of family recipe books that can be pulled out and browsed to get inspiration for dinner, a get-together with friends, or a decadent dessert.
The functional sink wash-up counter looks out through huge windows onto the garden and strategically placed pot plans take advantage of the warm sunshine. Electricity was the homeowner’s choice for both the oven and glass-top stovetop. With a smooth surface and no burners or grates to remove, a glass top is much easier to clean than a traditional gas or electric coil stove as there are no hard-to-reach areas where food and grease can accumulate. The smooth surface heats up fast, saves on power bills, and offers even heat distribution for precision cooking. A microwave is placed strategically on a shelf with easy access to upper and lower cabinets. The fridge features double doors and ample space for storing groceries to feed a family and pets.
A stylish backsplash behind the stove provides a heat-resistant surface that combats oil splatters and sauce splashes and forms a décor feature made of gorgeous scalloped tiles. The backsplash can be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth to always look shiny and attractive.
Lighting is vital in creating the perfect mood and this design offers a combination of built-in ceiling spots for bright light and backlit cupboards for a toned-down vibe. For after-dark romance, sipping cocktails, we have a trio of hanging pendants above the bench that emit a warm mellow glow.
This classy melding of cozy country and functional modern gives the homeowners exactly what they imagined, creating an ambiance and atmosphere that are hard to match.
